Located in picturesque Wood Islands, Red Wood Cottage is a deluxe, housekeeping cottage with bright, cheerful rooms, all of which are tastefully decorated. The cottage was built new in 1995. Cottage is in immaculate condition with pine interior and vinyl flooring. Large kitchen, dining room and living area is open concept with a beautiful cathedral ceiling. All fixtures, appliances and furnishings are like new. The cottage has three bedrooms: one with a queen bed (new in 2018), one with a double bed and one with a single bed. The bathroom is equipped with both a bathtub and shower.

There is a large deck on the front, and a smaller deck off the back. A screened-in porch runs the length of the cottage, perfect for outdoor dining, family game night, relaxing with a book or enjoying your morning coffee.

The cottage is equipped with a microwave, fridge, electric stove, washer/clothesline, propane BBQ, internet, satellite television, radio/bluetooth speaker and DVD player. Movies, books, board games and beach toys are also provided. All linens and housewares are provided. Pets are welcome (please contact us to discuss).

This is the perfect getaway for a family vacation or golf weekend, in a great location. An easy drive to Charlottetown and other attractions.

Red Wood Cottage is approximately 900 feet from a beautiful sandy beach known locally as "Pantings Shore". This beach stretches for about 2 km, from east to west, passing through Northumberland Provincial Park. There are no steep drop off or strong tides, making this a wonderful place for children. Lots of warm red sand and sea life to explore. It’s common to see one or two of the colony of grey seals that live off the Eastern point. Twice daily, the tides go out, leaving amazing sandbars to explore and dig for clams.

If you head 5 minutes west, you arrive at the Wood Islands lighthouse. You can watch the fishermen bring in that day’s catch and even pick up some fresh lobster, mussels, or oysters from Crabby's Seafood to enjoy. Head 5 minutes east (approx 5 km) to enjoy award winning wines at the Rossignol Winery, at one of their daily wine tastings. The fishing villages of Murray River and Murray Harbour are only a 10-15 drive away. Brudenell River Golf Course, one of the top 50 courses in Canada, is a short 30 minute drive
